August 1981 historical calendar: "Vera Haskell Sackrider, 623 Adams Street--This charming house at 623 Adams Street was the girlhood home of Vera Haskell who graduated from Owosso High School in 1899. For several years before Vera married Dr. Charles Sackrider, a well-known Owosso dentist, she had a six-piece ladies' ensemble that played at resort hotels in the South. The drawing depicts the house with the original 'tripod' construction and porch." |
